Kratom, or Mitragyna speciosa, is widely known and used by many for its various natural benefits. Some use it as a stimulant, cure for various illness and as a transitional medicine for those recovering from drug abuse.  Kratom provides a great herb for many situations.  Other also use it for its sedative effect, analgesic properties and even for increased sexual drive.

However, one of the many benefits of Kratom is losing weight the safe and easy way. While other have dismissed this as a side effect, one can’t argue that some are looking for a way to lose some weight without the need to go to some extreme measures. Hence, this weight loss, side effect or not, is something of interest.

How Kratom Helps In Losing Weight

A lot of Kratom users have reported of the natural medicine’s effect of suppressing appetite. This goes well along the other benefit of increased energy that promotes an active lifestyle. With these advantages together, it should not be surprising that people who consume Kratom start to lose some weight. A more outgoing persona added with discipline in food intake is a perfect match for a healthy method of losing weight, which Kratom helps sustain.

Moreover, Kratom does not only work on the superficial level. Another benefit of Kratom is to stimulate feelings of optimism, euphoria, and inspiration. Thus, users of the natural herb report of being less depressed, stress-free and have more energy.

The following conditions or feelings are actually attributed as one of the causes for weight gain; hence, Kratom helps users maintain a more positive mindset and in turn promote a more healthy lifestyle and characteristics.

Is Kratom Safe for Losing Weight?

While some have argued that weight loss associated with Kratom is a side effect and is not safe, it is actually not. However, you must remember to use Kratom as a health supplement that has many benefits, and losing weight is just the bonus.

Using Kratom solely for losing weight may result to over dependency and overly conscious of not achieving the desired result, which results in taking a larger amount. This proves to be uninspired as it shows more of your willingness to look good and not you having a more balanced physical and physiological well-being.

Given this scenario, is there a possibility of one overdosing by taking more than the recommended amount? The answer is no. Contrary to what others are saying, there are no reported cases of a person overdosing or worse death associated with Kratom use.

In fact, Kratom, being a natural herb itself is the safest health supplement out there, and any significant amount intake would just result in common side effects such as headaches, stomach problems, and fogginess, which are not harmful. Moreover, Kratom also has its safeguards in preventing this from happening.

The Alkaloids found in Kratom leaves, while having a longer effect, do not stay connected to your cells as most opiates do. Your body will process Kratom as any food intake, quickly and naturally.

Most importantly, you should not view weight loss as the ultimate goal for using Kratom. Think of it as an extra benefit along with the extensive list of its positive effects. Evidently, if you were to have a more healthy well-being and become a more functioning member of society by using Kratom over time, losing weight along the way wouldn’t also hurt right?

  1. I tried Kratom a few times and both times noticed a very high feeling with not much intake, like 2 capsules once, and 2 teaspoons in a drink another time. both times I experienced an overwhelming feeling of wanting more, which leads me to believe addiction to this substance is not as light as suggested. Also, I have been with others who are now using it regularly, and quite honestly they too just seem high. The weight loss is rather sudden in which case the stated anorexia in countries where Kratom is used for laboring is quite high. These areas also state many cases of psychosis. I witnessed a close friend using Kratom for 3 months, and he just started feeling funky, when he quit his Kratom use, he was layed out and flu like for 5 days, he also mentioned how it had the monkey on your back effect….Meaning feening for more Kratom was a constant.

  2. There is no doubt that kratom is addictive, anyone who says otherwise should be regarded with caution. I personally got up to close to 10 tablespoons 3 -4 times a day & faced a period of fairly miserable withdrawal. It wasn’t a good few weeks, to be sure! But it’s not the plant’s fault, it was me who abused it. I’ve since begun using it again but never more than 2 grams at a time as a stimulant to help with fatigue from what is probably overtraining syndrome on my bicycle.
